REVIEWS:
"Good Evening Chef,
When I was growing up, I remember helping my mother to ferment lime, chilli padi and onions to make her famous pickles. Those days it was rock salt all the way and fermentation was in earthen jars. It was fun as it was a time to chit chat and following strict instructions! (yeah, my mum was a perfectionist!!)
So I bought your book a few months back and my personal favourites are the cherry tomatoes (to which I added chilli padi and ginger as its my favourite combination) and the Indian style sauerkraut. Tried to do the coconut yogurt too but failed the first time and may try it again soon. (Need to go and find that coconut uncle in Kepong for fresh coconut)
I love this book and how Malaysian it is. Not only because its so easy to get the ingredients but the recipes bring back the ‘kampung nostalgia” - so simple yet so delicious!
Thank you Chef for all the recipes that you have been sharing with us. Loved the chocolate chip cookies as l can keep it in the fridge, no oven needed and its my cheat day snack. As for the granola bars, it’s something I want to make to eat before my walks.
Cheers
Louisa"
“By the way, our house never runs out of coconut yogurt. Use it on practically everything! So simple&easy, so delicious and so nutritious! Its a winner esp when I feel just plain lazy.” - Myrle
